STAIRS

Here is a set of steps I built after designing them in CAD. A project like this comes out different when first rendered on the computer, as apposed to building as you go. The steps had to be removable, underneath them is the only way to get under the house. This affected the design a little, I still managed be minimal, sturdy, and with some design elements.

green are the steps, red are the braces. Black is the existing cement.

CAD is great to work out tricky designs for building. You can 3d rotate the drawing for study and adjustments before cutting and real material.

At this stage in the layout everything looks fine, should fit right in place when constructed.

When finished designing I disect the parts and measure for cutting. Some drawings I printed at full scale and traced onto the wood for cutting. This saved many hours, and wood to.

Here are the completed steps. It came out very sturdy, no wobble, no missmatched pieces.
