Fake rock sculpture

This photo shows some of the steps to making a facade for a museum display.
I started the base with mdf wood and quarter inch mesh, shaped and stapled to the wood. I then put on this first coat of cement.

After a second coat of cement with dye to get a surface, I then put on a patina that helped it blend into the display.
There are three sections that puzzle fit together, this made installation easier.

This rock is made a little different, I dug a hole in the dirt of the basic shape and made my cement shell.
After it had set I pulled it out and applied dyed cement and patinas. This one, and the one below are both made this way for next to a pond. They make great sitting stones, are hollow for lightness and a place for a turtle to take refuge under.

These two sitting stones will age well with their environment, especially after some moss grows on them.
